My main character, Walt Sullivan's unsavory work as a hitman took him to some savory eating areas around the world. I wanted to showcase authentic recipes from people who actually cook and enjoy these dishes in their real lives. I crowdsourced some ideas in the draft stage from the AMAZING Facebook group, Subtle Asian Cooking (S.A.C.) and have also asked acquaintances for other recipes.

Walt may live in the beige food, pepper-is-as-spicy-as-it-gets suburbs of Chicago. But that doesn't mean that he has to eat like someone who can't help but say ope! when they pass behind you in a hallway. There will also be a recipe for gungjung tteokbokki, fesejan, and ropa vieja.
